Our story

We make objects for a slower life.

Krevalo is a European home brand rooted in Japandi philosophy — considered pieces made by hand, from materials that age with you, built to last a long quiet life.

"A home isn't a showroom. It's the place your days slow down, your thoughts settle, and the things you own quietly work for you. We make the quiet things."
— The Krevalo manifesto
What we believe

Three principles, nothing more.

01

Fewer, better things

A single well-made object outlasts a dozen disposable ones — and earns its place in a room. We'd rather ship one piece you love for ten years than ten pieces you replace every two.

02

Materials with a life

Rattan, linen, clay, stone, walnut. Materials that soften, warm, and develop character over time. Nothing plastic where natural works. Nothing synthetic where honest will do.

03

Direct from the maker

Every piece is sourced directly from the workshop that makes it — no licensing, no rebranding, no middleman margins. The maker's mark is stitched, stamped, or signed into every piece we ship.

The Origin

Where ma meets lagom

Krevalo sits at the intersection of two quiet traditions: Japanese wabi-sabi — the beauty of imperfection — and Scandinavian lagom — the idea that just enough is exactly right.

The pieces we curate live where negative space is as important as form, where texture matters more than gloss, and where the object should disappear into the rhythm of your day rather than announce itself.

Makers

The people who make our pieces.

Indonesia · Portugal · Italy · Japan
Indonesia Rattan weavers

Lombok rattan weavers

A family workshop of twelve, weaving pendants and seating by hand since 1978.

Portugal Portuguese ceramics

Alentejo ceramicists

A three-potter studio in southern Portugal, wood-firing clay vessels in the Moorish tradition.

Italy / Belgium Italian linen

Linen mills

Long-fibre linen woven in family-run mills supplying Milanese ateliers for three generations.

Japan Japanese woodwork

Kyoto woodwork

A workshop of four, joinery by hand using techniques passed master-to-apprentice.

Sustainability

Less, made to last.

The most sustainable object is the one you don't have to replace. We design for decades, not seasons — with parts that can be serviced, materials that age into themselves, and pricing that doesn't force corners.

Our packaging is plastic-free. Our rattan is sustainably harvested. Our linen is OEKO-TEX certified. Our stone is quarried in Europe. We're not perfect — we publish what we know and what we're still figuring out.
