Against craftsmanship defects

Hand-woven over fourteen days by one of three artisans in Lombok, Indonesia. The Rattan Pendant diffuses light into soft, organic patterns — a ceiling piece that feels less like a lamp and more like a quiet architectural gesture.

Each piece carries small irregularities from the hand of its maker. That is intentional, and part of the design.

  • Sustainably harvested Indonesian rattan, hand-woven
  • Powder-coated steel ceiling canopy (matte black)
  • 2.5m textile-wrapped cable in natural linen
  • E27 socket, suitable for LED / incandescent up to 60W
  • Finished with natural beeswax
  • Ø 32 cm — Height 28 cm — 0.8 kg
  • Ø 48 cm — Height 42 cm — 1.6 kg
  • Ø 62 cm — Height 54 cm — 2.4 kg
  • Cable length: 2.5m, shortening on request

Dust gently with a soft, dry brush every few months. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth followed by thorough drying. Rattan prefers stable humidity — avoid hanging directly above bathtubs, kitchens with heavy steam, or outdoors.

"A pendant should fade into the room and only show up at dusk. This one does both."

The making

Fourteen days. One pair of hands.

Each pendant begins as a bundle of hand-harvested rattan stems, sorted by thickness and curvature. Over the course of two weeks, a single artisan weaves the entire piece on a wooden form — no jigs, no shortcuts.

We buy directly from the workshop. No middlemen, no rebranding. The maker's mark is stitched into the canopy of every piece we ship.

The light it casts is genuinely beautiful

"I was worried a rattan pendant might feel too rustic for our apartment, but it reads as quiet and sculptural. The shadows on the wall at night are the part I didn't expect to love."

Worth every euro

"Installed above our dining table. The Ø 48cm was exactly the right scale for a 180cm table. Packaging was thoughtful and the canopy is sturdier than I expected for a woven piece."

Lovely but be careful with scale

"Beautiful piece, arrived quickly. I ordered the Ø 32cm and in retrospect should have gone bigger — it slightly disappears in our living room. Returning and exchanging was painless."

Exactly as pictured — quieter in person

"The texture photographs busier than it reads in a room. In real life it's soft, warm, and recedes into the space. Ours is hanging in the bedroom and the mood at night is perfect."
